PTSA Open House
Plan to attend the PTSA Open House on Thursday, August 27th at 7:00 pm.

Membership tables will be set up before Open House.
Memberships are $5 each. Every student, parent and member of our Kell Staffulty is encouraged to join (Parents Teachers Students Association).
You may download your membership form here and drop it off, along with payment, at the membership table.
Say “NO” to fundraisers by making a one time family donation (suggested amount is $35 per student or $60 per family). However, any amount will be appreciated. Remember your donation is 100% tax deductible.

Tuesday IS DUESDAY!
Class dues may be paid before and after school on Tuesdays only during the month of August.

We will only collect dues for the first month of school so we can reorder shirts the first week of Septermber.

If your teen has gently used clothes that he or she has outgrown and would like to donate to a worthy cause, please contact your school Social Worker, Kim Evans, 770-591-5048. Clothing Donations will be accepted from September 1st - 9th.

Kell Counseling Webpage
The Kell Counseling Webpage is currently undergoing some mandatory “renovations” and is currently offline. We are working to get some general information up as quickly as possible as we realize that this is a resource used frequently by Kell parents and students. FUNDRAISERS
Kell Bands March-a-thon and Food Drive
On August 29th, the Longhorn Marching Band will kick off the marching season with a 6 mile march through the neighboring communities. Check the website www.kbba.org for more information. All are welcome to join the send off for the march at 9:30 am from the band parking lot.
The Kell Bands Booster Association is conducting a food drive for 2 weeks leading up to the First Annual Kell March-a-thon. Please place your non-perishable items in the barrels outside of the band room.
First Annual 5Kell
Run in the First Annual 5Kell on September 26th.
The race is a fundraiser for the Kell Swim & Dive and the Kell Fastpitch Softball Team. The 5K race is open to participants 13 and older. There will be a I-Mile Fun Run for children 7-12 years old. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a race day t-shirt.

CLUBS
Future Business Leaders of America
F.B.L.A. Has weekly meetings on Tuesday mornings in Mrs. Forbes’ room 1115 at 7:45 am. F.B.L.A. is a national organization that offers middle schoolers through college (Phi Beta Lambda) an opportunity to learn how the world of business works, how to compete with special skills, how to interview, and the importance of community service.
Becky Forbes and Beth Zullo are the co-advisors and we always have something to snack on!!!!
ATHLETICS
Football Fans
Kell Longhorn Football kicks off its 2009 season in a scrimmage against Sprayberry High School on August 21st at 7:30 pm here at Kell. There will be BBQ plates for sale. Advance purchase a BBQ plate from any football player for $5.00. Plates at the game will cost $7.50. Admission to the game will be $5.00. Come out and watch the Longhorns and Jackets in this Inaugural Canton Road Classic sponsored by the Northeast Cobb Business Association.
Athletic Passes
Athletic passes will be available until September 11th. Student price is $70, Parent price is $100 for the first parent and $75 for the second. Please go to the front office to purchase. Thank you for your support of Kell athletics!
Fall Lacrosse
Recreational teams are being formed for both boys and girls. If you are interested in participating in Fall Lacrosse, please be sure to advise the parent coaches: mkirby@oxfordinc.com (boys team) or nate.farmer@comcast.net (girls team) who will be able to provide more information about the practices, games and registration process.
Longhorns Ice Hockey
The Longhorns Ice Hockey team is looking for experienced and intermediate ice hockey players for the upcoming 2009-2010 GHSL season! Tryouts are coming up in a few weeks and games will be played at the Ice Forum in Kennesaw with practices at the Marietta Ice Complex on Lower Roswell Rd.
