Financial Aid Night
The Kell Counseling office is hosting a Financial Aid Night on Thursday, January 14th at 6:30 pm in the Theater. Many topics will be covered including filling out the FAFSA, HOPE, scholarships, GACollege411, grants, loans, etc. Don’t miss this important meeting!
 
Georgia High School Writing Test
Review sessions for the Georgia High School Writing Test will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, January 20th, from 3:45 - 4:45. Students who need to retake this test should receive a letter in the mail and are invited to attend. Additional information is available on Ms. DuPre’s blog at http://kellgradcoach.blogspot.com/.
 
East Cobb Quest College Fair
The East Cobb Quest College Fair will occur at Lassiter High School on Wednesday, January 20th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm with Breakout sessions starting at 6:00 pm. Over a hundred colleges will be in attendance and will include most popular Georgia colleges in addition to many well-known out-of-state schools! Also, there will be representatives from several trade programs, professional programs, the military, and Job Corps in attendance.  Don’t miss out on this great local opportunity for your students to learn about post-secondary options. This fair is hosted by Lassiter, Kell, Pope, Wheeler, and other East Cobb high schools and is rotated among these schools each year.
 
National Art Honor Society
Kell High School’s chapter of the National Art Honor Society will be hosting a craft fair on Saturday, January 23rd. The craft fair will be held in the school’s cafeteria from 9:30 am-3:30 pm. Booths are available for $30. If you are interested in a booth, please email Laura LaQuaglia at laura.laquaglia@cobbk12.org for further information.
 
Cobb Alcohol Taskforce
The Cobb Alcohol Taskforce has been missing the youth voice in our efforts to curtail underage drinking. We hope that you know of two outstanding youth in your schools, churches, household or community youth organizations that would be interested in serving on the CAT Youth Council. We are planning a Youth Summit on Saturday, March 6th for all the youth to meet, greet, and listen to their voice about underage drinking. Application deadline is January 29th. Please ensure your child registers for Accounting prior to college. Do You Need Help Raising Your SAT Score?
Princeton Review is offering a deeply discounted SAT class for all students at Kell High School. The cost is $375 per student (normal price is $949) if we have at least 15 students participate.
When: Tuesdays or Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:45 and 3 Saturday practice tests

Lacrosse Night at the Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have a special promotion available through the Kell Lacrosse booster club for the February 10th game vs. the Miami Heat. Tickets are $25.00 for this game (Regular Price $43.00) and Kell Lacrosse receives a portion of the proceeds of each ticket that we sell. Enjoy the Hawks at a huge discount – AND support our lacrosse program at the same time. The deadline to purchase a ticket under this promotion is Monday, January 18th. Don’t Miss the 2010 Southern Showdown
One of the most exciting match-ups in Division 1 men’s lacrosse will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 13th at McEachern High School as #1 Duke takes on #19 Bucknell in the 2010 Southern Showdown. Tickets are $12.00 each and Kell Lacrosse receives a portion of the proceeds.  Tickets can either be purchased on-line via PayPal (www.kelllacrosse.com) or you can bring a check payable to “Kell Lacrosse” to Coach Mac in the Media Center.
