Food Drive
Kell PTSA and Center for Family Resources are partnering with the Northeast Cobb Business Association to sponsor the “Thanks for Giving 2009” food drive. Donated food items will be used to create Thanksgiving Food baskets for needy families in Cobb County. Barrels will be inside the front entrance of Kell. Click here for a list of the items needed.

Sophomores
The Kell Counseling department is hosting a Parent Night on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the theatre for Sophomore parents. During this meeting, information will be presented on graduation requirements, navigating through the school system, and resources available to you and your students among other topics.

Project 2400 Informational Meeting
Tuesday, October 27th, 6:30 pm in the Kell Auditorium
Kell is, once again, participating in Project 2400 which provides free SAT preparation by The Princeton Review to high school Juniors. The SAT course consists of 24 hours of instruction and 3 full-length diagnostic tests. Interested families MUST attend this meeting to participate in the program. St. Jude’s Rally

PTSA fundraising is down this year so to help make the Class of 2010 senior events special,
we are asking all Senior parents to donate $20.
Please deposit your donations in the PTSA box in the front office with “Senior Activities, Kell PTSA” on the envelope.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with the Tailgate Party. Please reply to camend@bellsouth.net if you would like to help.

Kell High School is breaking new ground with Cobb County Schools’ newest Reading Bowl team, The Kellions. Twenty-eight Kell students will be vying for the five spots on the competitive team. The team will be coached by Dr. Sherry Grove, Coach John McLaughlin (media specialists) and Mrs. Judith Coane, English department. For more information, click here.

After the Kell football game, Five Guys Burgers & Fries will stay open two additional hours…TILL MIDNIGHT! A percentage of the proceeds from after the game until midnight will go directly to benefit your Kell Longhorn Marching Band!

Kell Longhorn Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country teams had another successful weekend taking first and second place respectively at the Bleckley County XC Meet near Macon, Ga. Cheer them on as they head into Regions in their quest to attend the State XC Meet.
